With our SRP wins in tow, let’s secure two ACC seats!
This fall, we have the opportunity to elect two champions for clean energy and affordable rates to the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC)! The ACC oversees utility policy statewide, and under Republican control they have approved rate increases and repealed AZ’s modest Renewable Portfolio Standard. There are a significant number of data centers proposed for AZ, threatening to further drive up rates for consumers, and deplete AZ’s limited water resources. We need to elect Clara Pratte and Jonathan Hill to stand up to data centers, hold utilities accountable, and demand clean and affordable power for consumers. We’re backing:
- Jonathon Hill for Arizona Corporation Commission – A scientist and engineer, Hill has spent the past 18 years at Arizona State University working on several NASA space missions. If elected, he’ll fight to expand clean energy, push for more rigorous cost–benefit analyses that account for the growing risk of gas-powered plants, and enforce decisions that would keep corporations in check.
- Clara Pratte for Arizona Corporation Commission – A member of the Navajo Nation, Pratte has served under three U.S. Presidents and four Navajo Nation Presidents and co-founded Navajo Power, a clean-energy company that develops solar projects withIndigenous communities. If elected, she’ll champion restoring the clean energy policy that the current Commission scrapped and will use her platform to increase scrutiny on projects that could harm Arizona’s long-term climate plans.
