The candidates fighting for climate and affordability in Tempe

A fast growing city in Arizona, Tempe needs leaders who can fight for stronger investments in public transit, a workable plan to move towards clean energy, and efforts to mitigate shifting water resources. We’re backing the following candidates:

  • Bobby Nichols for Tempe City Council – A lawyer and well-known state advocate, Nichols has written laws and ballot initiatives to establish affordable housing programs, expand emergency protections to survivors of domestic abuse, defend tenants from unfair evictions, and stood alongside climate activists to demand a Green New Deal for Arizona. He’s running to expand the city’s solar infrastructure, expand public transit, and oppose the development of new data centers.
  • Brooke St. George for Tempe City Council – St. George has given back to her Tempe community in many capacities: a State Committee Member for the Democratic Party, as PTO president, and as a small business owner. Climate justice is critical to her platform, and she’s running to implement International Green Construction Code for all new development in Tempe to get the city’s buildings off fossil fuels.
